On the 14th of November 2019, HERAS conducted a training on Research Integrity and invited researchers, PhD-students as well as supervisors. The training took place at MEST Premises, where an interested and actively contributing audience of more than 30 researchers from various disciplines and Universities followed HERAS´ invitation.
The training was the second event dealing with research integrity in Kosovo, after a Workshop with stakeholders from MEST, Universities and Science Council in April 2019. With Nicole Föger from the Austrian Agency for Research Integrity (OeAWI), HERAS was able to win a well-experienced trainer who has excellent contacts in the international research integrity community. After a welcoming speech from the HERAS team member Donjeta Ibra and a statement from the HERAS expert Dorothea Sturn (Centre for Social Innovation, Austria), Nicole Föger explained the history and facets of Research Integrity as well as the governance of OeAWI).
After a general introduction about standards of good research practice she focused on Research Misconduct, on Conflicts of Interest, on Data Management as well as on the highly discussed topic of Publication and Authorship. The audience could benefit from her immense experience and the practical cases she offered.
