The PP project “University Education for Intercultural Understanding and Peacebuilding” as of 19 March 2019, started with the second phrase of course package on intercultural understanding, human rights and peacebuilding in the UP. The PP is implemented by the University of Graz European Training and Research Center for Human Rights and Democracy (UNI-ETC) together with the University of Prishtina. This programmatic partnership is within the framework of the “HERAS – Higher Education, Research and Applied Science” and aims to integrate intercultural understanding, human rights and peacebuilding in the mission and strategy of universities in Kosovo.
The interest and motivation of students for the interdisciplinary university course was very high. As part of the program, all enrolled students will regularly attend the classes, and undertake research on a chosen topic. They will learn about the importance and benefits of intercultural communication and understanding, human rights and its impact on peace building processes. At the beginning of the course, students were initially introduced with the HERAS project, as well as with the topics of the course.
Further planned project activities include a conference on the topic and a publicly accessible collection of human rights literature will be established at the University of Prishtina.
